Amalya Sargsyan

 Amalya Sargsyan is a research fellow at Immune Oncology Research Institute and a third-year Medical Oncology resident who gained her Medical Doctor degree from Yerevan State Medical University, where she graduated with a special nominal scholarship. In 2020 she started the Medical Oncology residency program at the Adult Solid Tumor and Chemotherapy Clinic at Hematology center in Yerevan. Along with clinical specialization - in 2021, she was accepted to the master’s degree program in Precision Medicine in Clinical Practice at UCY, Cyprus, with a scholarship from the European School of Oncology. She had a chance to have a 6-months observership at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center in Nicosia and a rotation at the Center of Excellence in Biobanking and Biomedical Research at the University of Cyprus. She is an ESCO fellow since 2021 and a member of ESMO, ASCO, and ESO. At the Immune Oncology Research Institute, her main research project is dedicated to collecting and analyzing the nationwide retrospective data on the Immunotherapy experience over the past years across all the experienced centers in Armenia. Her goal is further to enrich the Immune Oncology field in Armenia and promote access to innovative cancer care letting developing countries like us - equally benefit from the novel approaches.


ABOUT OUR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The program’s goal is to foster the professional development of the oncology research workforce as part of IMMONC’s goal to create a reliable and sustainable environment for the conduct of cancer research in Armenia.

This program will provide fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct quality research and give them the opportunity to receive mentorship, guidance, and multidisciplinary support to conduct an innovative research study of their choosing.

Each participant will undertake a research project with the help of their designated mentor, thereby acquiring valuable experience and skills. This opportunity will enable them to lead future projects with confidence and independence.
