RUZANNA PAPYAN

LEAD OF THE PEADIATRIC HEMATOLOGY AND ONCOLOGY TEAM

Dr. Ruzanna Papyan is a pediatric oncologist and Chief of the Pediatric Oncology Department at the Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Armenia (Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center), and a lecturer at Yerevan State Medical University. She holds a PhD focused on musculoskeletal sarcomas in children and adolescents, with an emphasis on clinical outcomes, healthcare system challenges, and survival disparities in resource-limited settings.

She completed the High-Impact Cancer Research Program at Harvard Medical School and has undertaken clinical training at leading European centers, including St. Anna Children’s Hospital in Vienna, University Hospital Graz, and Essen University Hospital.

Dr. Papyan is actively engaged in international collaborations, serving as Co-Chair of the SIOP Global Health Network Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) Working Group, Director of Education Programs at the Global Neuroblastoma Network, and Young SIOP Representative for SIOP Asia.

Her work focuses on strengthening multidisciplinary care, advancing research infrastructure, and addressing global inequities in pediatric oncology through initiatives such as telemedicine-supported care and regional collaborations, including the Sarcoma Research and Care Network (SaRCaN).
